Funny how the direction you expect life to take rarely happens. Instead, you find a series of bumps, turns, twists, potholes, and forks. And maybe, just maybe, if you are lucky enough, once in a while, you just might happen upon something breathtaking. And you are even luckier if you are in a position to truly revel in it. And if you aren’t? You just keep rambling on… Hoping with your heart of hearts that maybe you will stumble upon this scene again, only next time, maybe stay a while.

So… As has been mentioned previously, I am back in school… Only one class, two nights a week, but it’s school, nonetheless. The homework, tutoring sessions and excess studying tells me so!! I’m taking Chemistry. (Let’s all groan in unison, shall we?) Yes. I know… I’ve taken Chemistry three times before in my life. And I didn’t pass a single one of them. So, needless to say, I went into this semester with minimal confidence and a whole lotta stress! I hate Chemistry. Well, I used to. Now I just intensely dislike it! (perhaps we should clarify that I am discussing the scholarly pursuit of chemistry… not the physical pursuit! ) Thankfully, it seems that the wisdom of my years has overcome my feelings towards the subject and surprisingly enough, I’m doing pretty well. But, I no likey! And, for anyone who’s counting? 28 days left!!! 2 unit exams, and one final remain… (along with several labs). But I’m “this” close!!! Keep your fingers crossed! And if anyone really wants to know the difference between covalent and ionic bonds, or how to figure the atmospheric pressure at 136ft underwater, you can ask me… but you will probably have to pay for it!

Do you think that the faces men make when working out, lifting weights, to be more precise, is the same as the face they make when they, uh… “finish”?

These are the things I think about when I am on the treadmill or bike, and watching you boys on the weight machines!

So… Since I’m trying to re-learn the art of the blog, I have created a working document… a living work of literary musings, if you will. When I have an idea for a blog that strikes my fancy, that seems like it could potentially offer some entertainment value (no matter how slight) OR offer some level of cathartic release, I jot it down. Perhaps with a few notes thrown in, and always a few of my steadfast emoticons. You already know my issues with those. ;) But, I’ve noticed something… It’s become apparent that not only do I talk to myself in person, out loud, while doing, well, anything anymore. But, it seems that I talk to myself in writing as well. Um. Yea… I’m currently having an internal debate as to whether this actually seals the deal to my nutso looniness? Do I need to commit myself right away? Is THIS the final stitch in the straight jacket? Is this the proverbial “last straw” that causes those around me say, “she was always such a nice girl, kept to herself, never thought she could do that?” Though, in all honesty, if I could keep to myself, I wouldn’t be blogging, now would I? This very well may be the confirmation that the men in the white coats have been waiting for. If I disappear, you can just assume that they got me, and I’m drugged and happy in a padded room somewhere. You will come visit me, won’t you?

Yes. You heard correctly. And, you may have already arrived at this conclusion yourself, based on some of my previous writings.

I overuse emoticons. I know that I do. Do I care? Nope. Not even a leetle, eetle bit. I also regularly abuse commas, and don’t always punctuate properly. Now and again, I even end my sentences in prepositions. Egad!

So, if you can bear with the glaring and obvious disregard for the written English language now and again, we will get along just fine! And, if the smilies get out of hand, just let me know… I MIGHT decide to care.

Ouch! Please, sir, may I have another?

So. I’ve come to the conclusion that apparently? I am a TOTAL glutton for punishment. Yup. Are you showing me your surprised face?

I have got so much going on these days that I honestly am not quite sure how I’m doing it. Well, I’m exhausted, I do know that much! To add to my full-time job and busy household, I’ve gone back to school. So chalk up two nights a week for class. Not even counting homework time. And, simply because I just didn’t have quite enough on my plate? I volunteered to coach my son’s t-ball team. And, I’ve gone back to the gym. So, the concept of down time has become entirely foreign to me and I’m kinda, really, totally, super-duper tired… Zzzz…

It’s funny… I used to feel like I had SO much to blog about. So much to tell. Nowadays? Not so much. My life is a buzz of ‘be here, go there, do this’, all sandwiched between keeping my house remotely inhabitable, and attempting to keep my head above water at work. I know, I know… You have no sympathy, right? It’s the same problem everyone else has. But, don’t you see? The world actually revolves around ME, I tells ya! Naw… I know it’s a common complaint. The plaintive cry emanates from the rooftops of just about every family dwelling… “Calgon! (or Tequila! or Long-Term Coma! [feel free to insert method of your choice.]) Take me away!” Simply put, I don’t got no funny no more! Perhaps that should be my task. Find the funny! Find the blog within… I mean, isn’t that what life is all about? Doing things interesting enough to blog about? ;)

Ugh. And now that you are TOTALLY bored and likely asleep on your keyboard, drool creeping in rivulets in between the K and the L keys, I shall attempt to rouse you with the following: Overheard in the kids bathroom this past weekend, “My pee-pee is ice!”, “My pee-pee is hot lava!” Hmm… Methinks it may be time for a trip to the pediatrician.

Back in the Saddle again…

So, over the past several years, I have been known to ‘blog it out, b****’ on a somewhat regular basis. It’s been quite a while since I have partaken in said activity, though. Do I miss it? That’s a good question. I am here, aren’t I? So, obviously, there has been some level of misty-eyed, woeful longing for the good ole days of wrestling with potential blog topics, in a heated (and sometimes futile) attempt to come up with something relatively interesting, somewhat coherent and passably articulate. Apparently, I like that kind of abuse.

I’m in a quite different place than I was the last time or three I started blogging. And, I haven’t decided exactly where to take this particular blog, as of yet. So, do bear with as I attempt to find my way through THIS incarnation of Daisy’s musings and meanderings. That said, though, it should prove to be a rather interesting trip.
